Darren Raleigh: News

"The Isle of the Blessed" is a stunning success! - March 18, 2008

What a great time! We expected to sell about 30 tickets preshow, with a few more at the door. The final tally was 121 tickets sold, and extra seats brought in from everywhere. The people were great, the show went fine and I couldn't buy my own whisky for the rest of the night! Made some new friends, sold some CD's...I love this town!

I'm listed with Concerts In Your Home! - March 18, 2008

I'm now listed on the center of the house-concert universe - Concertsinyourhome.com. In the ancient tradition of Turlough O'Carolan and the other traveling bards from time immemorial, I'm taking the harp on the road. Want us at your house? Then mouse over to the Links page (top of the page, far right, under my left wrist) and click on the big white banner ad.

New concert on the Schedule! - March 15, 2008

The Isle of the Blest - A Mythic History of Ireland. I'm going to be doing a one-man Celtic Bard performance at Living History Farms in (what a cool place!) on March 15th. That's right, the Ides of March!
I'll be bringing Irish mythology, storytelling, poetry, and of course playing the Celtic harp and singing. Beer and noshies to follow.

I'm Booked for the Irish Festival! - January 5, 2008

I've been asked to play, sing, recite and whatever else I do for the Des Moines Irish Festival! I'll be doing two 45-minute shows at the Iowa State Historical Building in the Capitol Complex - St. Patrick's Day, of course!

Silverwheel is Now Downloadable! - November 13, 2007

DigStation, that digital portal for indie music on the web, has Silverwheel available for download. Once again, off the Buy tab (up top).

Silverwheel Hits the Baby! - November 9, 2007

CD Baby, that ally and friend of the independent musician, is stocking Silverwheel. You can get it from clicking on the link on the Buy page (top of this one).

Silverwheel Released! - October 28, 2007

The new CD's arrive from the Oasis CD, and I'm all over town getting the first copies in the mail to CDBaby.com (checkitout!) and to all the people that I've promised a copy. They're going to Ireland, they're going to Wales, and the Post Office is confused.
